How much does it cost to publish in Sage Open? What is Sage Open's Article Processing Charge (APC)?

Modified on Tue, 7 Jan at 8:37 AM

Sage Open differs from a standard journal fundamentally because articles are not published behind subscription paywalls and are therefore accessible to anyone with an internet connection. We do not have a print version and instead publish articles in a continuous format online at Sage Open on Sage Journals. To make up for the costs of publishing we ask authors to pay an article processing charge (APC) if their article is accepted.

An article processing charge (APC) will be payable on acceptance if the manuscript is accepted after peer review. It is free to submit, and the charge is used to cover the cost of publishing, including professional copyediting, peer review, and hosting the article online. For more APC information, please see Journal overview and metrics: Sage Open: Sage Journals.
