When ordering in the Sage website, we aim to process and despatch within 24 hours. However, there are some exceptions if a title is temporarily out of stock, if the title has not yet been published, or if the title is published via Print on Demand (POD).
Temporarily out of stock/Not yet published titles
The Sage website does not offer real-time updates on product availability or publication dates for upcoming publications as you place your Sage books order online. Therefore, when placing a book order on our website, the product may be temporarily out of stock or has not yet been published. If this occurs, the order will be treated as a 'back-order' and it will be supplied to you as soon as the title is back in stock or published.
If you purchase a title that is not yet published or is temporarily out of stock, and therefore your order is classed as a 'back order', the pending Credit Card transaction will lapse and the funds will be returned. Once we can supply your order, our system will send a new request to your bank which will create a new pending transaction. Please note, if a title becomes available before the pending transaction has lapsed, a new pending transaction may be created which may appear that Sage is double charging you. Please be assured, both pending transactions will disappear leaving just a single charge.
Print on Demand titles
The Sage website does not distinguish between POD and in-stock products. Print On Demand (POD) titles are printed individually or in small batches as needed, with direct shipping from our printers within about two weeks. Therefore, when placing an order in our website, the product may be a POD title. If this occurs, it will be indicated on the invoice as it will note "Product will be supplied within 2 weeks" or "Shipping separately within two weeks" under the product line, as illustrated in the examples below:
As Print On Demand orders are shipped directly from the printer to the customer, the packaging may not display Sage branding. A delivery note will include the Sage invoice number for reference and any expenses listed on the printer's paperwork do not require payment.
