Research4Life is a program that provides institutions in low-and middle-income countries with online access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content. We kindly invite you to visit the Research4Life website to confirm your eligibility
Sage offers a 100% waiver on an APC in fully Gold Open Access journals where the corresponding author is affiliated with an institution based in a country listed in Research4Life's Group A and Group B*. Hence, if the corresponding author's country is part of the program, your article will qualify for a complete waiver of the APC and you will not be required to pay any fees.
*Journal Exceptions:
The following journals use World Bank income levels to prioritise full and partial waivers. Please consult the journal’s website or contact the journal’s editorial office for more information.
If you have opted for your article to undergo a technical edit in the following journals, your article will not be eligible for a waiver:
Research4Life waivers are automatically applied to your article, you do not need request a waiver or enter any promotional codes. Once your article is accepted, our production system will apply a Research4Life automatically if you are eligible according to the policy described above. You will then receive an email from Sage Journals: Licensing & Payment clearly stating that you have had a waiver applied to the APC and inviting you to select a Creative Commons license.
