Why has my APC increased?

Modified on Wed, 18 Dec at 3:37 PM

The majority of Open Access publications require the accepted manuscript's author, institution, or research funder to pay an article processing charge (APC). APCs occasionally rise in accordance with business needs.

Over the years, our program has matured to support the changing needs of researchers and a growing level of interest in Open Access. Recently, we have updated our article processing charges (APCs) to bring them in line with market rates to better reflect the value we deliver. We have assessed these changes against the industry benchmark, and we remain on par with or below our competitors.

As an independent publisher, we are free to invest any profits we receive back into our publishing programs to improve how we support our authors, based on careful listening and feedback, and increase the reach of our content to the widest possible audience.
