What is LTI?

LTI is an “opt-in” functionality at an institutional level that is available for Sage Campus content. When configured at an institution, LTI will enable the library’s Sage Campus content to be seamlessly accessed directly in the LMS.

Why would my institution configure LTI?

LTI provides another convenient way for instructors to discover and use Sage Campus content—improving discoverability and driving usage and engagement for those resources.

Benefits for learners

  • Simplified Access to Courses: When learners log into their institution’s Learning Management System (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and see that faculty have assigned a Campus course or module, they can use the LTI course link to immediately access the assigned Campus content. After the initial access via the LMS, learners won’t need to sign in again.

Benefits for faculty

  • Enhanced Discovery of Campus Courses: With LTI enabled, Campus appears as a selectable resource when faculty create courses on their LMS. Faculty can easily select any Campus course or module and add the LTI link directly to their LMS-based course.
  • Streamlined Content Assignment: Faculty can quickly and easily add course links via their institution’s LMS, eliminating the need to generate links on the Campus platform. This streamlined process not only simplifies content assignment but also provides learners with easier access, potentially increasing usage.

Benefits for everyone

  • Seamless Integration within LMS/VLE: All content accessed via LTI is displayed within an iFrame in the LMS, making Campus courses appear as if they are part of the LMS itself. This ensures users do not feel like they are leaving their familiar LMS platform.
